the northern great lakes, detroit at 29 degrees, columbus 29, binghamton 32, new york city 41 degrees. we'll call it cold tonight, 28 degrees for hagerstown and frederick, baltimore around 32 degrees, d.c. 35. head down to quantico for a temperature of 30 and you can see out toward winchester 28 degrees. so coal overnight expected freezing and be -- cold overnight expected freezing and below in the suburbs, about 35 degrees in the district with lighter winds out of north at 5 to 10 miles per hour. we'll keep that going tomorrow, our temperature 50 degrees. so a cool day with the average being in the upper 50s now but definitely wall to wall sunshine. at 8 a.m. 38 deges with lots of sun. by noon about 47 degrees and again expecting a good amount of sunshine and by 4:00 about 48 degrees. we stay quiet in the short term. as we check temperatures around the region tomorrow, again it looks like some of you will only be in the low and mid-40s, cumberland only 43 according to our model guidance, winchester, martinsburg and hagerstown 45. you get in closer and it's most likely upper 40s to the cl
at 39, columbus 29 and chicago 39. there will be gusty winds out of the northwest as well. annapolis, gusts to 21 this hour, frederick and hagerstown gusts up and over 30 miles per hour. while have a rather gusty night and most of the day tomorrow. here's what we've got at the surface. frontal boundary will swing through with showers overnight clearing west to east tomorrow for a brighter afternoon for most places as high pressure builds in. between the departing cold front and incoming high pressure we'll keep the breezes going foam and we'll certainly keep temperatures -- tomorrow and we'll certainly keep temperatures much chillier than today. in rain we're thinking between 1/2-inch and inch of rain and 1/4-inch to 1/2-inch for everybody else in the light green colors. 49 and showers, gusty winds with a temperature of 53 degrees for a drier afternoon and cooler day overall. in fact, our fox 5 accuweather seven-day forecast, mostly a cool weather, but a lot brighter especially by tomorrow afternoon, chilly wednesday, 50 degrees, dry for us here thursday, friday, saturday, next chanc

was there today. and our steve brown is there as well live in columbus with more on this enormous battleground. what's the mood, steve? >> well, the polls have closed but voting continues. it is a situation around the ohio state university campus that we're aware of now that if you are in line as the polls close you still get a chance to vote. they will let whoever was in the line part of the 7:30 vote. we started receiving reports that there was a line of over 700 nero -- near ohio state university and one person said it is more like 200. the governor said he was on his way out there to keep folks entertained and keep them company to keep them in line. in this state there is no such thing as extra votes. karl alluded to this a few minutes ago there will be an earlier indicator how this state goes. folks who were veteran political watchers in the state say about 45 minutes in, about 8:15 because the early votes are the ones that get counted and because the obama campaign has made it so central to the campaign strategy that should give them an idea how many votes or what size of a lead the ear
